Rainy Day Reading

These are a just a few of the most intriguing, thought provoking, heart felt, brutal, passionate, kick you in the guts, most amazing books I have ever read. I love them all each in their own way. If you haven't read them, some or one of them, I suggest you get yourself to the nearest book store or library. LIke today, its getting rainy in the SLC and there is nothing better than sitting by a window, sipping some hot chocolate and getting lost in a book.

When You own Lots of Beautiful Jewelry.

LIke most females, I own a lot of jewelry. A LOT. From bangles to pearls and even my hippie headbands I found myself drowning in all the beautiful accessories. I have always despised jewelry boxes. Why? I have no valid reason for feeling this way. My solution? Simple and, if I do say so myself, adorable. I got the grand idea of purchasing these beautiful hooks from Urban Outfitters to hang my accessories on while browsing their home decor section one lazy afternoon. I was instantly inspired upon seeing these beautiful vintage inspired bright hooks and at only $2.50 a pop I bought three. My beautiful pearls no longer get tangled in all my other long necklaces and my headbands are much happier now that they aren't thrown into some dark drawer everyday. The bright colors add a lot of character to my peaceful room where I spend lots of much needed relaxing time.

Organic Banana Bread with Blueberries.

I have been on a serious banana bread kick lately. Yesterday I got two wonderful ideas.. 1- To bake my own yummy loaf of banana goodness and 2- to incorporate blueberries into my baking! So amazing and such a delicious breakfast. I don't have tons of time to eat breakfast in the morning. Grabbing a huge glass of water, hitting the power button on my Mr. Coffee and stuffing something into my mouth as I head to get ready for work is my life. I don't have time to make breakfast and eating a slice of banana bread is fast and never disappoints.

What You Need...

Organic Flour
Organic baking powder
Organic Sea Salt
Organic Sugar
Organic Egg
Organic Milk
3 small ripe banana's
Organic Blueberries

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
Mix flour, sea salt and baking powder into a bowl
Mix bananas, eggs, milk and the bananas into a separate bowl and blend until smooth
Mix the banana mix in with the flour and blend well
Pour desired amount of blueberries into the mix and fold/stir
Pour mixture into a 9x5 baking pan and bake for 1 hr
Let bread cool off for five minutes and enjoy!

Despite the Craziness, All of this Feels so Very Right.

Today was one of the most beautiful Sundays here in the City of Salt. There is nothing better than sleeping in until 1030am, rolling out of bed, getting pretty and grabbing some brunch with the most phenomenal woman in the world on a sunny morning. I am one of the luckiest girls on the planet. My girlfriends are so caring, passionate, empathic, intelligent, inspiring, helpful, generous, etc... I could go on and on. They are my best friends, my mentors, my therapists, my helping hand, a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold. Whatever I need, they are there. Life gets crazy and we often don't have time to get many of us together all at once but today, that wasn't the case. Sara, Kelley, Carrie and Ash.. I love you all so much. You make this crazy life so meaningful.

We met for brunch at Cafe Trio in Salt Lake around 1030am. I was surprised the place wasn't busier. I thought for sure there would be a wait. Instead, no wait and the beautiful Sara already sitting at a table for us. Our server was amazing and we sat by a big window with the sunshine shinning through the entire meal. I got a tad warm towards the end but I couldn't have asked for a better view. As girls do, we chatted about current life happenings, jobs, relationships, work outs, our delicious brunch, boutiques, and more. The coffee and water was plentiful and just take a look at our yummy food...

This was their Breakfast Pizza which was the special for the day. Trio is looking to have brunch on Saturday and Sunday from now on and they are trying new dishes to complete a new menu!

-Roasted red peppers with chick peas (hummus style and not spicy), spinach, tomatos, onions, huevos rancheros sauce and eggs. I ordered mine with no onions and egg whites. So YUMMY.

-My roommate Ashley is Vegan and had limited options but I suppose when you have one amazing option thats all you need! She ordered the Olive Tapenade and my was it tasty.

After brunch we decided to walk around the 9th and 9th area and boutique browse. Some of my favorite boutiques are in this area and thank goodness FRESH is open on Sundays. Unlike three other boutiques in the area. I fell in love with these pants! I was strong and saved my pennies though.

What a wonderful Sunday. I haven't felt this at peace in so long. Even though there are things in life right now that are hard and stressful, I feel so overwhelmed with happiness and I truly believe everything is right where it is suppose to be right now.
